Whatever things….

Philippians 4:8

Finally, brethren,

Whatever things are true,

Whatever things are noble,

Whatever things are just,

Whatever things are pure,

Whatever things are lovely,

Whatever things are of good report,

if there is any virtue and if there is anything

praiseworthy—meditate on these things

Is your mind set on whatever is true and noble? Today we are doing a thought analysis. What is the most consistent train of thought through out your day? What creeps in unconsciously without second thought? That you would rather have it locked in somewhere?

Today’s verse reminds us to deliberately meditate on those things that are true, noble, just, pure, lovely and of good report. By thinking on those things that are good and honorable, we influence what we do and eventually become.

”We become what we think about”

When those thoughts of anger and frustration want to creep in, let your thoughts quickly meditate on the word of God on worship song.  What does the Bible have to say about that situation or that person that may be causing distress or anxiety in your life? Meditate instead on what the Bible has to say, and counter every negative thought with God’s word.

As you go through the day ask the Lord to guard your mind and your thoughts on all things because He is concerned about your general well being including your thoughts and emotions. Whatever thoughts your could be struggling with, tell the Lord to give you the mind of Christ instead.

1 Cor 2:16,(NKJV)

But we have the mind of Christ.

Prayer of the day

Lord I pray that you may guard my mind and my thoughts. Today help me to meditate on whatever things that are true, noble, just, lovely and of good report. May the peace of God that surpasses all understanding guard my heart and my mind in Jesus name. Amen
