The God of New Beginnings!
Gen 1:1-2 NKJV
In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. The earth was without form, and void; and darkness was on the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God was hovering over the face of the waters.
Let’s go back to the beginning! Before the foundations of the earth were laid, before time began, when everything was without form and void, God was! He was at the beginning! All sufficient by Himself! The Infinite and Eternal God stood at a point in eternity to create the Beginning! Our Beginning! What better person to create the beginning other than the God who is the Beginning Himself? The Alpha and Omega! The First and Last!
As much science would like to question the beginning of all creation, God doesn’t need to prove to any of us to be the creator of the universe. Furthermore, He did not ask for suggestions or any ideas from anyone or anything! He did not need to consult where to place the moon or the stars! God in His infinite wisdom and boundless creativity started the beginning!
He is the Beginning of Everything.
Now the beloved disciple of Jesus, John, in the first chapter of his book starts by showing God as the Beginning . All things were made through Him, and without Him nothing was made that was made. John 1:3 (NKJV) God is the beginning of all creation! As a matter of fact, He is at the core of every atom, every molecule and every tiny cell ever created or will ever be created. Nothing exists without Him! By His Word, all things came to be! All things including you and me start and end with God! Nothing that exists in the earth or in the heavens can claim its existence without God. We simply cannot have a beginning without God even if some were to deny this very truth!
And He is before all things, and in Him all things consist.
Evidently, God’s creativity at creation is at full display by the magnificent and beautiful sceneries we see daily in our lives. What about the inventions and advancements we see in technology or in science? God is at the very beginning of all those advancements! He orchestrates their beginning by first giving men and women different gifts and talents and thereafter inspires “God inspired Eureka moments” that enable men to come up with brilliant unimaginable ideas and strategies. Because after all, God is the expert of the bringing the unimaginable to being, the presumed impossibilities to possibilities!
All things are created for Him
All things are created for Him; for His glory and His own pleasure including you and me! We were created for God’s purpose and glory! All things are created to bring glory to God! For His divine purpose! Your new beginning is purely to display God’s splendor! With every season that starts in your life, God is at the beginning of it, writing every chapter. Always conducting every symphony of our lives with such precision and perfect harmony.
However, God doesn’t need anything from the things He has created to be God or to remain God! Additionally, He cannot ever be contained in the things He has created! After all, He is the creator and therefore He is above all!
Many Chances for New Beginnings
Now having known that God is the beginning of all things and that all things exist and begin through Him and for Him, I love this last part! God is not deficient of new beginnings for you and me! At the beginning when sin entered the world through Adam and Eve, you would think that that was the end of the human race! No! God still desired to create another new beginning for us! He brought in the law during the time of Moses to try and redeem mankind.
Even thereafter, God continued to send His prophets throughout the old testament to help restore Israel back to Himself ; always giving the children of Israel a chance at a new beginning. Despite their rebellion and disobedience, God did not give up on creating a new beginning for us. The amazing thing about our God is that even after 400 years of silence between the Old and New testament, He still gives us a chance at a new beginning! As a result He send His only beloved son Jesus Christ, to die on the cross for all our sins so that we may have redemption and a chance to have new beginnings in Him. God has not only given us the chance of a beginning, but of many more beginnings! He keeps giving chances to that one lost sheep , that He may bring back to the other 99, to His fold.
God is interested at your new beginnings!!
Are you currently at crossroads because you don’t have a plan on what is next in your career? Could you be asking what do now that you are a new mum or dad? Maybe you are starting life afresh without a loved one in your life! God is right there with you ,very much invested at your new beginning more than you! He is there with you even in the chaos and the uncertainties of life!
God who thrived at the beginning of creation when there was literally nothing; when there was total darkness and void in the world; He is still at work today! Welcome God today in the chaos! Welcome God in your new beginning even when you seem not know where to start. Start with God, for what He starts, He will sustain and is faithful to bring it to fruition and completion.
Prayer for today
Lord Jesus, I thank you that you are interested in my new beginning! Thank you that you are the God of new beginnings. Thank you for a chance at a new beginning. I welcome you as the Lord and savior of my life! Come and reign in my life even in this new beginning! Help me to trust you to lead me. I thank you that even as I begin this new phase of my life, you will keep me; you will sustain me and bring everything to completion .
